演绎了一辈子莎士比亚戏剧的演员埃略特·布莱恩荣耀一生，临老却身患阿尔斯海默症，常常在自己的生活和饰演的戏剧中含混不清，穿梭在真实和角色之间，那个曾经风貌勃发的自己与现在渐行渐远。他获誉无数，尤其以饰演李尔王为著称，他自己的生活更是与《李尔王》呈现的故事暗合，他的三个女儿和李尔王的三个女儿一样，在他生命长河行至渐衰之时展现出况味百态。他的三女儿考黛拉叛逆不羁又向往自由，在面对与从前那个威严矍铄的父亲截然不同的埃略特·布莱恩时，她因为父亲的变化，自己对人生和家庭的态度也产生了微妙的、动人的变化。

Synopsis
Eliot Pryne, a Shakespearean actor during his glorious lifetime, is afflicted with Alzheimer's disease in his later years, often confuses his true identity with the character he plays—King Lear and wavers between the two. The once vibrant and proud self has been drifted away from himself.

Eliot has won fame, particular notable as being the role of King Lear, whose life and story agree with his own: his three daughters in real life, like King Lear’s three daughters, present various attitudes toward their father’s life withering away.

Cordelia, the youngest rebellious daughter, craves for freedom but in face of a different father who once was august and hale. Her minds on life and family have been undergoing subtle changes.

Joys and sorrows, partings and reunions—vicissitudes of life have been elaborated in this play by this old man and his three daughters. It teems with warmth and brightness when the curtain falls.
